Madness.

His kids lost their Mother and Grandmother over the last 2 years and now their Father wants to risk getting brain damaged.

Utter madness.

Can't he buy a pub or a race house like the good old days?

Or even a race horse?

Re: Rio Ferdinand to announce start of boxing career
No doubt there will be some sort of reality TV show/documentary around this, which will be the only reason he is doing it. I highly doubt we'll ever see him in a proper fight against someone that could, and will, do him damage.

Not going to happen is it.

He'd have to go in at Cruiserweight, and would be knocked out cold against journeymen.

Throwing himself under heavyweights is a safer post-playing activity than throwing himself under lorries

I saw him bottle out of a fight with some Serbs in a Stockholm nightclub in 2005 so doubt he's got he bottle for this.

Eggbert Nobacon 11:02 Tue Sep 19
Re: Rio Ferdinand to announce start of boxing career
Is he likely to be facing more than one Serb at a time in his boxing career then?

Re: Rio Ferdinand to announce start of boxing career
He's going to call out Dillian Whyte, beat him, take on Deontay Wilder, smash him, unify the titles from the Fury/Parker fight and then head towards Anthony Joshua and obviously, smash him.

Nailed earn most dead cert bet of all time.

The thing is ... when I think of tough as teak hard as nail footballers... Rio would not be in my top 250.... for fucks sake I'd even put Kevin Keen infront of him for toughness...

Re: Rio Ferdinand to announce start of boxing career
Don't see any issue with this at all.

Poor bloke probably needs a new outlet after what he has been through.

He will be able to afford good coaches to help him.

More to the point, I don't suppose for one minute he has particularly lofty ambitions within boxing.....simply wants to have a go at a sport he is a fan of.
